Boxed Cattle Guard
Are you looking for a non-traditional portable cattle guard that you can move from site to site while you are working on a construction project on farms or ranches that have cattle? Our boxed cattle guards are the answer to your needs. Our boxed cattle guards are installed in a non-traditional way that does not require excavation or concrete to utilize it. It is a very useful cattle deterrent as well as a wheel cleaner as your equipment and vehicles travel over it.
CONSTRUCTION SITE WHEEL CLEANER
Lee Products boxed cattle guards are the perfect answer to having a portable wheel cleaner for your construction sites. It can be moved from job to job. All you need to do is lay the cattle guard on the ground and build a dirt ramp on either side. When your equipment goes across, it cleans the wheels as they go. You don’t have to worry about pouring a concrete foundation, and it is a temporary installation that can be taken with you to your next construction project.
CATTLE GUARD – NO FOUNDATION NEEDED
This guard can be extremely effective on your ranch if you have low traffic areas where a concrete foundation is not needed or desirable. The boxed cattle guard lays directly on the ground on whatever crossing that you want it to protect. You simply need to build dirt ramps on either side of the cattle guard. The steel skirting that makes the boxed part of the cattle guard keeps the boxed cattle guard free of dirt and debris, even with the dirt ramps pushing up against it. This portable boxed cattle guard with dirt ramps will provide you with a safe and effective vehicle crossing on your farm or ranch while effectively deterring livestock from crossing.
All boxed guards are made from 10 gauge steel.
Are you a farmer or rancher that wants easier access to parts of your land without having to put up gates? Cattle guards give open access to vehicles but keep livestock inside the area you want them in. All Lee Products cattle guards are constructed with heavy wall steel pipe and heavy duty thick steel channels. All of the ends of the cattle guards are capped to prevent rusting.
Our cattle guards are made from 8” channel and the pipe is 4.5” or 3.5” .188 wall pipe. The guards can be ordered with box or wings (bolt on wings when being shipped). We also can do custom sizes per customer’s request.
Sizes from 10′ to 24′ long and 8′ and 6′ wide. We work with people all over the US, gaining us the reputation of having the best for farms and ranches. They are built to withstand the load of very heavy truck and construction equipment. Lee Products offers several types of cattle guards for private, commercial, public highway and heavy duty off-road equipment use. We comply with city, county, and/or state regulations.
What is a cattle guard and what is it for you might ask, if you happen to be a city slicker. Well, a cattle guard keeps cattle and horses out of your yard as well as keeping them protected in the designated pasture that you want them in. The way a cattle guard works is that there are metal pipes that are combined into strategic formation by Lee Products and it is installed over a ditch. The ditch is a really important part because if a cow tries to cross a cattle guard over the ditch, her legs will get stuck. Cows know this, so they generally don’t try to cross cattle guards.
Removable Box for Cattle Guard
This box allows you an easy way to clean out under your cattle guard. The box is made from 10 gauge steel. The box will add about 1.5” to each side of the total width and length of the guard.
Fast and Effective: Cattle guards can be cleaned in minimal time, therefore eliminating possible damage to the cattle guard. Road traffic is not impacted as well because cleaning can pause while traffic passes through.
Winged Cattle Guard
Cattle guard wings are another useful feature. They prevent your cattle from jumping the corner of the guard. Wings are used with barbed wire fences. If you already have a full height fence along the width of the guard, that will work effectively, but it cannot be just a flimsy 3 strand barbed wire. You need to have a fairly substantial fence. Although cattle are not all that smart, they can cut the distance in half and hop 3 feet. Having fencing along the entire width of the cattle guard prevents this. If your fence is barbed wire, the wings are your best and safest option.
All cattle guard wings are made from 4.5” .188 wall pipe.
No hardware included on the bolt on wings
