In March 1985, the late Ron Heaviland and his son, Tom, bought a small landscape company in Carlsbad, CA. Located within the McClellan-Palomar Airport industrial corridor, Heaviland Landscape Management started with only one truck, six employees and a handful of commercial contracts. The father-son duo saw a need for expertly managed commercial landscapes and set out to offer services based on long-term relationships and site-specific solutions.
