With the vision of creating a successful landscape company, two young friends, three credit cards, and one garage later, that vision began to take shape. Since 1973, a desire to succeed, passion, energy, and a grand restructuring has metamorphosized their simple goal of running a small boutique company into the world class landscape company we are today. American is known for its ability to deliver complicated landscape projects on time, on budget, with the highest quality, and with very satisfied clients. Our reputation has earned us the loyalty of some of the finest builders and Landscape Architects around. It has been our privilege to have been chosen as the landscape contractor for such notable jobs as: The Ronald Regan Presidential Library, the Disney Grand Californian Hotel, the Getty Center tramway & slopes, the Jurassic Park ride at Universal Studios, the LDS Assembly Hall in Salt Lake City, the Los Suenos golf course in Mexico, the Beverly Hills Hotel, the LACMA museum, Pauley Pavilion at UCLA, the Los Angeles Natural History Museum, and the Skirball Center to name a few. American Landscape has undergone many transformations in our quest to provide our clients with the services they need, and the quality they have come to expect. Over the years, American evolved into the American Landscape Companies and included several divisions: American Landscape, the construction services affiliated part of the group; American Golf Construction, servicing both private and public courses; American Landscape Maintenance, servicing landscape maintenance needs; and American Wholesale Nurseries, growers of plant material for the wholesale market. The most exciting and dynamic change for American came in 2006 when the non-construction related divisions of American Landscape Companies were acquired by the Price Family. Since then, members of the Price Family sit on the board of directors of American overseeing its activities along with a founding father of American. The renowned Price Family’s construction-and-landscaping heritage includes decades of owning and managing American Golf Corporation, a worldwide golf course operator and grounds maintenance company. The Prices have also brought with them a wealth of management experience and financial capital, all of which facilitated the restructuring of the American Landscape Companies, and a renewed focus on the things that make our clients value us. When the restructuring was complete, the companies were reorganized and American Landscape’s operations have focused on: • Union landscape and irrigation construction • Non-Union landscape and irrigation construction (allowed by trade unions on private works) • Golf Construction • Erosion Control Since the reorganization, American Landscape is committed to the constant improvement needed in Landscape Construction. New key personnel have joined our team, bringing with them expertise and experience. We have recently re-branded with a new logo, new website, Facebook, and Linkedin presences. In addition to our experienced estimators, project engineers, purchasing agents and golf experts, we have broadened our team to include Landscape Architects, LEED accredited professionals, and erosion control specialists.
