Proudly Aussie farmer owned and run ODFA is a proud co-operative of innovative farmers who work together to produce and supply the largest pool of Certified Organic milk in Australia. We were formed in 2002 from humble beginnings and today our pool of Australian Certified Organic / Chinese Certified Organic milk is processed at our facility in North Geelong, Victoria. Together, we supply our quality Certified Organic milk and butter to our long-standing partners, for families all over Australia to enjoy. 100% Aussie. Families farming for the future - these days, ODFA is a unique business model. We are farmer-owned and run. And, although a public (unlisted) company, limited by shares, our decisions are underpinned by the traditional values of a co-operative (co-op) - a democratic organisation, owned and controlled by our members for a common benefit. Members of our co-op can benefit from economies of scale through the combined purchasing, distribution, commercial marketing and influence of the group. We bring together capital, milk, and people to provide better outcomes for organic dairy farmers and manufacturers of dairy products. Our board consists of three experienced organic dairy farmers, supported by independent advisers with finance, risk management, legal and business management expertise. Collectively, through our leadership team we: negotiate competitive farmgate milk pricing for members maintain the highest quality milk standards manage members’ collective milk supply support organic dairy farmers through education, promotion of best practices on-farm, and the highest standards of animal welfare advocate for a GMO-free, chemical-free dairy industry support the broader Organic industry and work to maintain a sustainable Australian Organic Dairy Industry. Certified Organic We are certified organic and produce dairy products in an environmentally sustainable and socially responsible way, through soil regeneration, water conservation and animal welfare. The health and well-being of our cows is a key priority and is paramount to our holistic organic farming ethos. Being certified organic means we: promote biodiversity and our farmers grow a variety of crops implement regenerative agriculture practices to retain water, carbon and minerals in the soil prevent soil erosion and improve soil quality conserve energy protect wildlife, stream banks and watersheds assist our farmers in the Organic Certification process and ensure compliance with a strict set of standards. do not use synthetic or artificially produced pesticides, herbicides, fertilisers or geneticqally modified, transgenic organisms or seed (GMOs). ODFA is a public unlisted company (limited by shares), that operates under a Co-operative values system where every member has a say and is treated equally. Collectively we produce the largest pool of Certified Organic milk in Australia. And, our farms are located in the three main dairy regions of Victoria, as well as Central & North-West Tasmania.
